What Is Fragrance Free? Fragrance free is an unregulated term. Usually (and at this site), it means the product has no ingredients added solely to give it a fragrance.
All products have some odor from the base materials of the product. Especially if the product contains essential oils (for example, lavender), it may have a distinct floral, herbal, or citrus odor and still be labeled "fragrance free." Check the View Ingredients & Fragrance link for each product for this information.
From the label: "For face, hands, body and hair. This all purpose cleanser is made with the highest quality ingredients for chemical and fragrance sensitive individuals." The Mayo Clinic recommends "unscented products with sarcosinates, sulfosuccinates and cocoamphodiacetates" (see the Mayo Clinic web site article titled "Dry Skin" at www.mayoclinic.com). This simple, extremely gentle, and effective formula uses sodium sarcosinate. A thin gel that lathers up moderately and leaves skin clean and soft. This is a Holy Grail cleanser. It's listed for use as a shampoo, too, but it doesn't lather much as a shampoo. No added fragrance.
From the label: "...gently washes away makeup and impurities, without drying your skin. This nourishing cleansing lotion contains red tea and peptides which help fight the signs of aging. Copper, zinc, and manganese refine and even the complexion.... Perfect for normal, dry and sensitive skin. Hypo-allergenic." A soap- and detergent-free cleanser.

From the label: "...a soothing skin refresher for all skin types. This mild yet effective astringent absorbs excess surface oil .... Red tea, peptides, and copper increase collagen production to tone and firm skin, leaving it smoother and healthier. Hypo-allergenic." No added fragrance. Best for normal to oily skin, it's a good way to get copper peptides if your skin doesn't need a moisturizer. Has a small amount of alcohol, but far down on ingredient list so shouldn't be drying.
From the label: "...keeps skin hydrated all day, maximizes collagen production and protects against free radical damage with red tea and peptides. With copper, zinc and manganese for healthier, smoother, more radiant skin. This lightweight, non-greasy lotion minimizes the signs of aging... Great for sensitive skin." No added fragrance. Dimethicone high on the ingredient list gives your skin a silky feel. Few plant extracts, so less likely to irritate sensitive skin. This is basically identical to the Daily Moisturizing Creme that JASON discontinued, just in a lighter texture and pump bottle. It has an SPF 15 rating, indicating it gives protection against UVB rays (SPF relates only to UVB rays). It also has ingredients for protection against some, but not all, UVA rays, so you shouldn't rely on this for full UV protection.
From the label: "Rooibos red tea extract from South Africa is an antioxidant with the highest level of protective polyphenols to help prevent free radical damage, fine lines and wrinkles, leaving softer, more youthful skin. This innovative skin care product combines polypeptides and copper, zinc and manganese gluconates which increase collagen production, refine and even the complexion while softening skin and replenishing natural moisture, leaving the face feeling firm and renewed." No added fragrance.
Besides the minerals and peptides, this also has the great moisturizers hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate) and NaPCA (sodium PCA), among others, and the powerful antioxidant vitamins A and E. It is rated for all skin types, and we believe that is probably accurate, even though it's unusual to find a moisturizer that works across the board.

From the label: "...a light, oil-free, moisturizing gel that nurtures and protects the delicate eye contour from dehydration and signs of aging. Time-release formula combines powerful anti-oxidants, replenishing moisturizers, and organic botanicals to help neutralize sun and environmental damage for soft, smooth, youthful skin. Extra use: Beneficial for the backs of hands.” " If you have been using the original formulation, the new formulation is similar, but has additional good ingredients, most notably hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate). It is also a thinner gel with slightly more stickiness, but if you use it at night, it's not an issue. This is good for entire face, not just eyes, and back of hands, too.
From the Avalon material: "Our Revitalizing Eye Cream nourishes delicate eye area with cocoa butter, organic sweet almond, borage and flax oils with vitamin C for optimal photo-aging protection plus lemon bioflavonoids, organic green tea and white tea to defend against damaging free radicals for smoother, younger looking eyes. pH balanced." No added fragrance.
